On the 6th of June I'm going to be running my first 10km run. It's not the distance so much that worries as the running. I wouldn't call myself a runner. I would call myself a successful sprinter-walker-sprinter-walker-sprinter-walker (you get the point) or a really slow shuffler. So I've been doing 5km training days here and there in preparation. But I've decided to go about this a different way. So I started reading up on training. So most of them are going on about 8 week training routines. Well I only have 3 weeks. So I'm adapting it a bit. It makes it easier that the only goal I have set for myself is to finish. To cross that line at the end (if cross under 1.5 hours, even better). I know under an hour is what most people aim for, but I'm a really slow runner.
Week 1:
Sunday - 5 km road running
Monday - Rest, Body Balance at 7:30
Tuesday - 5 km treadmill run
Wednesday - Body Combat
Thursday - Interval training (5min run at faster pace, 1 min walk) x 5
Friday - Free Run
Saturday - Rest
